Weekend Holiday

I never thought I would get away
From this weekend holiday
A key island paradise
Though I stayed on my own advice
A recluse from the life I chased
To bring it down to a slower pace
But seven months to the day
I realize there's been a short delay

Our hearts are trained, programed to know
Of crazy thoughts that we must dispose
I've seen men grow old and fall apart
When they follow fortunes instead of their heart
No, I haven't been in the Sun too long
Acusations of fugue are wrong
A native beauty from this tropical isle
Had invited me to stay for a while

Cause when I saw you running from the rain
I had nothing to lose and everything to gain

All I expected was a cup of tea
And a towel to dry off what I could see

Am I at ease at what I done
When telling locals where I am from
The pon yards call me in the early morn
The sweetest thunder that a drum ever forged
Every day my conscience runs blind
As I search she always stays kind
Should I stay or should I go
Just one more minute but I just don't know

Cause when I saw you running from the rain
I had nothing to lose and everything to gain

All I expected was a cup of tea
And a towel to dry off what I could see

I have a song that I just played
And all it did was leave me dismayed
For who am I to tell a lie
If she came back she would certainly die

Just a weekend holiday
Just trying to get away
A key island paradise
Though I stayed on my own advise
